🥰 this would freak me out if I hadn't already proven to myself empirically that closure is not terminal for the observer, and that everything is still there on the other side of the realization of closure, just without needing the observer's attention in order to persist
... hey, I think we've been maybe misinterpreting object persistence, and I *really* want to say it's Lacan's fault, but it might be more like the gap is Lacan-shaped. pulling myself back through that mirror was a wyrd move, but things are *much* more coherent on this side of that move
